Similar to the ESP-system at the car, the AL-KO ATC continuously controls the handling response of the trailer or caravan. In driving situations which cause the trailer to swerve or sway, the transverse acceleration sensors of the ATC control electronics detect the slightest sideways movements even before the trailer ESP fitted to the towing car detects an axial movement. The trailer is gently braked immediately. A few seconds of applying the brakes are sufficient to restore the rig to a stable dynamic state.
